  There’s a knack 05 June 2021

  This is my second Lec handle. To be fair, I didn’t break the first one, but I do remember the faff at replacing it. I wasn’t looking forward to having to do it again. I read the notes from other people who had done it at least 500 times before attempting it. Essentials to remember…*you don’t need to take the door off. I’ve done two and didn’t take the door off. *yes, it helps to run the parts under the hot tap. *on the spindle it’s the long side that clips to the two bits on the side of the fridge *put the spindle in the handle, before attempting to attach the handle to the evaporator door itself *once spindle is in the handle, get the top bit lined up with the holes on the door first, with the long side of the spindle sitting outside the handle vertically. From this point, it really is a mystery. I managed to do it in 3 seconds. Basically, you are attempting to ‘pull’ or maybe push the handle into place so that it clicks round the spindle at the bottom (door catch on lhs) and drops into the bottom hole on the door. This was much easier than the first time but NOT because I knew what I was doing. Sheer luck. Good luck people!

  Persevere 10 February 2018

  Very tricky to fix but gets there in the end. Make sure to soak handle and spindle in hot water before to make it easier to fit. Put top in first and as you push bottom in to place lift upwards slightly.

  Just what I needed. 10 January 2018

  Part arrived quickly. A bit awkward to fit but managed to do it within 15 minutes. Many thanks to the other reviewer "Butties" for the fitting instructions. Excellent service from espares.

  Tips on Fitting 30 November 2017

  Part delivered promptly. To fit it yu need the plastic hinge component. The long vertical edge of the hinge component abuts the fridge side. Warm up the hinge component in hot water. Fit top into handle and into door hinge locator (Take door off to do the fitting). With handle near enough flat against the door push it into place. Some pressure needed. The plastic hinge components locates into bottom door hole and clips into handle in one operation. Good luck, takes time and patience but remember someone is fitting these every few minutes!

  Simple in a couple of steps 13 February 2017

  Like others I bought this handle after mine snapped. I searched on line for some guidance and read about taking the whole freezer compartment door off. There is a screw underneath the door on the right-hand side. Once you have the door off, it's easier to get the handle attached. You have to lightly push the hinge into the handle somewhat but it does go in with minimal force.

  Difficult to fit 23 October 2015

  Although this part is as good as the original was, it is so fiddly to fit. I could not get the door off so it was even more awkward. Also the spindle part of the handle needed replacing too as one of the flaps had snapped off but I can't seem to get that piece. Anyway after much swearing, I managed to snap it into place and although it's not perfect, it does enable me to close the freezer door properly. Be prepared for sore fingers!

  Lec Evaporator door handle 13 July 2015

  Great product but not easy to fit. Couldn't find any info on fitting on the internet. Handle missing when we bought fridge, so trial and error and a bit of force involved before we suceeded. A split drawing would have helped or advice on fitting.
