Ask a Question

I am unable to see the button (which is on the right-hand side on the assembly bar ) in your pictures. If this is no longer on the spare part why has this been removed . It was a great help when cotton etc got tangled . When one slid the button the bar rotated . Thank you

  • I think the question is referring to the Overload reset button. The overload trips out the rotor bar motor when too much current is drawn e.g. when the rotor bar becomes entangled. Without the Overload protection the motor may well be damaged. Does this replacement head have an Overload unit as in the original version? By L. Kirk - Edinburgh - 20 October 2018

It is likely to be the head but check the brush roll for anything that may be causing the noises.

There is a clip around the tube as it attaches to the body that when released allows the head to be removed and replaced.

The fabric may have jammed the motor causing damage, check for any signs of motor damage and look for anything else blocking the roller.

This usually occurs when something is obstructing the brushbar, like a sock or a thick string that's stuck round the brushbar not allowing it to turn. The noise is made to prevent you from continuing to vacuum so the clutch belt don't snap. Look to see if there's any obstructions and remove them, the bar should move freely once you have done so. To check this spin the brush with your hand.
