Brush unit making a noise like a bad bearing

vacuum works okay brush part doesn't seem to pick as well as it did

    This usually occurs when something is obstructing the brushbar, like a sock or a thick string that's stuck round the brushbar not allowing it to turn. The noise is made to prevent you from continuing to vacuum so the clutch belt don't snap. Look to see if there's any obstructions and remove them, the bar should move freely once you have done so. To check this spin the brush with your hand.
