It is likely to be blocked with limescale if you are in a hard water area. Use a descaler like Stock Number: ES1541155
I have a Vax Steam Cleaner S2 which has stopped steaming and has a vile 'fishy' smell when used. Does the filter need to be replaced 1 Answer

The filter will discolour/darken over time depending on water hardness and/or frequency of use the filter and is recommended it should be changed every 12 months, or once the filter has completely darkened but also check for a blockage.
My cleaner is not yet two years old! What is the situation, what can I do with it?

If the filter has not been replaced when required the appliance may be blocked by limescale, this may be removed by using a descaling liquid like Stock Number ES1541155
