  The shelf should have a stop to prevent pushing to back of oven there is a potential for it to tip backwards. The system of thin metal strips to wedge the shelf to a fixed width does not work safely. It allows the shelf to twist on the rails. This type of shelf in a hot oven is not safe! The shelf should be a fixed width or a more substantial method for securing the fixed width should be devised. Product is not very well thought out.

  It has done the job but with a lot of difficulty cause when extending the shelve out and put weight on it it don't stop in place and close again and fall to the bottom.

  The shelf in itself is fine, but it does not extend easily; it is stiff and doesn't slide out so the fit in the oven is a bit wonky. But you get what you pay for and it was cheap and will do the job with most foods.

  Shelf fasteners break as soon as you try to pull open. 14 December 2011

  While the shelf does fit, when pulling it out, there are pieces which are meant to secure the expandable part which actually slip out as soon as you start pulling. They're virtually impossible to get back in and need to be in there to keep the shelf at the desired width. Of the two shelves I bought, each have one of these secure fasteners now missing (there are 4 on each shelf). So while they're functional, they're not really the best quality and I should think that they could be made better.

  Not a simple solution 25 July 2011

  I brought this universal shelf for my 84year old mother. It was easy to fit, but it seems to keep closing and we cannot seem to get a tight fit. Causing the shelf to keep falling down.

  Does the job 18 July 2011

  Cheaper than one my oven should have, plus I had a voucher. If i'd payed full price I probably wouldn't have been happy. The product was slightly rusty in the packaging and when I went to extend it the little metal prongs come out, which I had to push back with a screwdriver. Now it's in place it's ok, it's only a spare. If I needed this for everyday cooking it would probably be annoying to keep clean. As said, it does the job.

  Setting the shelf to the correct width is a very fiddly operation as the retaining clips move out when shelf width adjusted. Now set, very good in use!

  Disappointed 24 November 2010

  I found this shelf very difficult to adjust to fit the oven. I lost one of the holding pins while trying to fit it and now it is too loose. Very disappointed.

  Very flimsy even though it was from a reputable supplier. After two days use one of the struts gave way (solder failed).
