  This is a direct replacement with an improvement to the base. The original was susceptable to segments, in the base, breaking out. This allowed cutlery to fall through and jam the basket in the dishwasher.

  Care needed when placing cutlery 06 February 2009

  The product is well mostly well made but its weak point is the bottom of the basket. My first developed holes at the bottom in a little over a year. One assumes that more care is needed when depositing the cutlery in the basket (don't just hastily 'drop' things in!) or it soon starts to break and teaspoon handles and the like fall through. Price from eSpares is brilliant compared to Zanussi direct.

  Not as good as original 23 January 2009

  I was disappointed not to be able to get a replacement identical to the original one, which was a third wider, with an extra row of compartments which would clip on to the current holder. But most disappointingly, the new version no longer has the very useful teaspoon slots in the handle. I had not realised how useful these are until they were not there on the new version. Teaspoons now get lost amongst the larger items and can be difficult to remove form the basket after washing.
