  The real thing 24 October 2022

  The fridge will, every 6 months or so, change the pleasant blue light to a pink then red light demanding the filter is replaced. I assume replacing it to be a good thing rather than just resetting the light, as one could. So I pay more for the oem parts because: there is more than type of fitting which are similar but not the same and I know this one fits. Second because they do seem to last longer than the odd generic ones I bought at one point. And they come with a magnetic magic trick to prove they are genuine, which is not a selling point but provides at least 0.1 seconds of entertainment. If there's a downside, sheer expense alone, is the lack of a recycling option. Plus point, espares include them in their periodic offers so I buy when they come around.

  Original equipment 25 April 2016

  I made a little mistake here and ordered the wrong filter. Don't get me wrong it's the correct filter for my fridge and it's Samsung and that's the problem, it's not cheap! The last time I ordered from espares I bought two unbranded filters for not much more than I have paid for one and they were perfect. This new one is good, however my water flow is not as strong as when I used the unbranded ones, so I can only think it's filtering the water a little better than previously and doing a better job - who knows! I may order the unbranded ones again to save money though!

  Ordered 2 of these and first one seems to be working ok. Difficult to give full review as they are supposed to last 6 months. Time will tell.

  Good Buy 05 November 2013

  I've just purchased new Samsung American Style Fridge Freezer so very new to this product. One small point your picture shows the product in a blue box and filter which came with the fridge was in a blue box also. Your product arrived in a GREEN box so I hope ok. I notice it has larger capacity, 500 gal against 300 gal in blue box. Is this the only difference?
