  Great Product 15 April 2016

  Not only is the door seal value for money but very easy to fit. The instructions are clear, the product is good quality and the fitting proses tales minutes. Tape measure and a pair of scissors. I would recommend this item to others and will be ordering another one for the large oven on my cooker.

  A bit tricky for my ancient oven 14 April 2016

  This seal being the only one on the market, I decided to go for it as my old AEG COMPETENCE 5210V one with rounded corners was perishing and had been stapled together for a while. My original seal was fairly flat and on receipt of the new one I realised immediately that it would be too thick. The other issue was that the new metal plates had the hooks at the top, whereas my old ones were near the bottom of the flat side of the seal. I set about modifying the new seal. I removed and cleaned the old plates from their seal and after cutting the new one to size, I inserted both the new and the old. My old plates did not have the jagged teeth and were somewhat shorter and thinner so they needed the new plates behind them for stability. The cavity was large enough to accommodate both plates. I then bent the new hooks away from the seal but left them in. I then cut the top triangular part off all along the new seal. The new seal with the old plates with hooks in right position now fitted perfectly and the door closes onto the seal with a snug fit. A bit of a labour of love but totally worth it. I have photographs of the procedure if anyone needs them.

  Very happy with this product. I think it has probably saved my mum a lot of money. My two top tips for fitting are: 1: watch the video that shows how to fit the seal, and 2:make sure that you cut the seal so that it really stretches from clip to clip. That way, the clips and seal will stay put.

  I wasn't sure how this would work.... 25 January 2016

  I couldn't see how you could cut the strip into lengths and not have gaps at the corners. But when I did it I found that the strip pressed snugly over the connectors, leaving no gap at all, and stretched neatly into place looking just like the original. Took five minutes. It smelt of rubber briefly during first use, now it's fine. I'm very pleased!
