  Difficult to cut 29 August 2013

  I tried to cut this material using a std hacksaw and failed, it is very difficult material to cut straight. After scrapping the first shelf I decided to take the others to a glazing company and as soon as they saw it they said that the material was a nightmare to cut, regardless I persuaded them to help me out and eventually we managed using an electric jigsaw ( not certain what type of blade was in it).

  Thank you for my purchase of the Plexi glass, it was for a fridge, the glass of which was broken my some rather clumbsy holiday makers!! Hopefully in the future the plastic will be stronger and certainly much cheaper than plate glass!! Thanks again. CH

  Easy to cut to size with a saw. Great that I'm not going to be able to break the shelf again! Only slight issue is that the shelf has some flex in it, whereas glass is rigid.

  Does the job and is easy to cut but a thicker sheet would improve the overall quality of the product as i found it did bow slightly, having said that this was 25% of the cost of a manufacturers replacement shelf. As a tip I used a car door edging strip to finish the shelf and this did the job perfectly !

  Overall good but a bit thin. I cut the plastic with a tile cutter which was easier than expected.As edges are sharp , would have been better with a plastic edge cover

  A Good alternative to glass 06 August 2013

  Easily cut with a hand saw. Lacks the rigidity of glass,could do with a stiffening piece along the front edge as it tends to bend when items put on it. I used a plastic clip for holding A4 sheets of paper. Having said that it is plexiglass so will not break, just looks precarious. Would I use it again. Most certainly.!!!!

  Did the job 28 July 2013

  After reading some of the other reviews I had a good idea what I had to do. Just adjusted my jigsaw footplate to 45 degrees, marked the plexiglass to the required size, cut it, deburred it, fitted the old plastic edging and it was finished.

  Dropped the wine on the glass shelf, so bought this one, really easy to cut with a fine toothed saw, and then smooth with glass paper. Looks just like the glass one.
