  Oven shelf guards 08 September 2015

  I did not even know oven shelf guards existed and upon searching e spares web site for an oven shelf, came across them. What a superb idea. I have not seen them before or know anyone that has used them. I am forever burning my arm on the shelves, but these should put a stop to that.

  Useful but not perfect 26 August 2015

  Bought for fitting on a shelf at about eye level (top of fitted double oven) where I have burnt my wrist on several occasions. Guard was easy to fit but not as wide as the 60cm oven so had to choose - place to the right or to the left, or cut in two so both sides could be protected. Slightly fiddly to fit but not difficult unless hands have rheumatism. Haven't tried cleaning it as yet so don't know how that will be. My main disappointment, and something that should have been obvious before I bought the protector but that I didn't think about, is that the front edge of the protector is raised above the shelf. This means that a dish cannot simply be slid forward off the shelf but has to be lifter to clear the guard. Lifting something containing hot fat or liquid, at eye level, may well be more hazardous than risking the occasional small burn. So - potentially good but think about exactly where you plan to use the guard.

  Great product 10 May 2015

  This is an excellent product and I wish I had been aware of them many burns ago. I have scored it 5 stars across the board apart from value, which I have scored at 4 because I have since seen a number of similar products much cheaper. Having said that, I do not know how the cheaper products compare for quality.

  Brilliant, great buy and product ! 19 March 2015

  I have spent the last 40 years suffering painful and unsightly burns and scars on my wrists and arms from accidentally coming into contact with hot oven shelves when grilling etc and making cheese on toast and similar, I was very excited to read of this unique product and I have just bought a few of these for my sister's oven and my own. They are a very tight fit on shelves, and these guards do seem to remain touchable when taking out items from a hot oven or grill. Very pleased with my purchase.

  Good product, does what it says. Smells a bit on first use, but it soon dissipates. Would recommend to save the odd burnt hand !
