Good quality, minor modification needed for my oven. 01 August 2017

I bought this oven fan to replace the worn out one in our Hotpoint cooker, which was the original installed when the cooker was new. The replacement fan motor appears to be of similar quality to the original in terms of build and materials. The threaded screw holes used to secure the motor to the oven housing aligned perfectly. I found that the fan spindle was longer than on the original which prevented me from being able to replace the guard inside the oven. It was an easy problem to solve – I made three 1cm spacers using small bore copper tube and inserted them between the plate that attaches the fan to the back of the oven and the three arms that surround the motor. The new fan starts as soon as the oven is switched on and runs quietly.

    quality product 28 July 2017

i purchased this fan for my Hotpoint hae60ps oven. before purchasing it is most important you read the dimensions & reviews as i did otherwise you could end up with the fan blade touching the fan cowling & this will prevent the fan from turning & burn out the motor . i did what some others have done in the reviews & made some spacers 11mm long & put them between the motor back plate & the motor mountings. i also had to change the screws for this for longer ones. apart from this i am very happy with how the fan is working much better than the original part which only lasted 16 months

Great replacement - but slight modification required 23 June 2017

Used this to replace a failed fan in an Indesit FID10IX/1 S double oven. Fitted perfectly with the original fitting holes etc., however when I went to re-fit the guard for the fan/heating element, it appears that this fan sits slightly further out from the original in that I was unable to to fit the guard without it fouling on the new fan. (the fan blade itself is identical to the original, so surmise that the motor shaft is slightly longer?). My workaround was to cut 4 x 10mm lengths of copper microbore pipe (8mm) to make posts, and with longer stainless steel self tapping screws I could sit the guard plate just clear of the fan. The fan/motor itself works a treat and doesnt rattle like the old one did (probably me torquing up all the fittings, then re-tightening once the oven had heated up!!), and I would recommend it but with the above in mind.

Slightly different from the original item, but easy to fit & works a treat. The fitting video was very helpful too

Fine after a little headscratching 24 April 2017

Fitted to a Hotpoint Ultima. For those who are tackling this make/model using this option you need to be aware of the following: 1. When you remove your old fan, be very careful not to damage the heat protective membrane that fits between the fan and the oven wall. It is extremely fragile. 2. The fan shaft for this is approximately 10mm longer than the Hotpoint one you're replacing. This can be overcome by sourcing 4 longer screws and spacers to re-fit the internal vent wall. I used M3 washers to a depth of 15mm and some screws I had in the garage that fit nicely. This is a very easy job all in all and the oven is as good as new again. Good option for a Hotpoint as long as you're ready for the slight spacing issue.

Good Quality Oven Fan 31 March 2017

I took a chance and purchased this universal fan because I could no longer get the original spare part for an old oven. The fan required some work to fit which I expected. I had to drill and thread three new fixing holes and use metal spacers but now fitted the fan works well and the oven is now back in use. This is a good quality fan and will probably fit most ovens.

    A money-saver 18 March 2017

I think the most important thing to know when fitting a replacement fan motor is that the screw holding the impellor on has a left-hand thread This is not mentioned at all in one of your videos though if you watch carefully you can see which way the pliers(!) are being turned. It is mentioned in another video but only in passing. One can make life very difficult by first tightening a screw you are trying to loosen!

FITTING NEW FAN 27 January 2017

Overall the fan was a perfect replacement. The only big fault that I encountered with fitting it to a hotpoint oven was the orientation of the replacement fan it is offset 90` so it made the wiring loom to short to fit. So I had to find some stainless steel wire to splice in a join otherwise fitting was easy.

    Consumer advice 19 January 2017

The fan ordered was a universal fan claimed to fit a Hotpoint BD52k Mk2 but the Shaft was to long but I had the ability to make spacers so I was able to have my Sunday dinner. You should recommend purchasing the insulation gasket at the same time as it disintegrates on removal.
