  Recently, my B&D GL687 strimmer has been "eating" the HDL at an alarming rate, and I was stumped until I noticed that the strimmer cover had enlarged holes either side of the area where the metal part of the HDL fitted into the cover. After some online research, I discovered that espares.co.uk offered the replacement cover. Following purchase and fitting the part, I found that the problem was solved, and rather than purchase a new strimmer as I had anticipated, I believe that I may get a few more years out of the machine.   After the lugs fell apart on the strimmer cover it wouldn't work, the new cover has repaired it like new, saved buying a new strimmer..
