  Universal pump though exact replacement for my machine 09 February 2014

  The only reason I have not given an overall rating of 5 stars is because though this is the exact pump for my Candy washing machine (model and serial nos provided) espares told me it was not listed as being so. The alternative recommended was more than twice as expensive. The picture of the pump looked the same so I went ahead anyway even though on the telephone I was told any return would be at my own expense.

  Manufacturers parts tend to be supplied to us at a premium compared to universal and the part we would have quoted would have been for the original from Hoover/Candy. It is often the case the universal is identical but as it is not supplied by the manufacturers for this machine we could not confirm that it was suitable and therefore had to recommend the other part.

  Good quality product for the price considering price of a standard stock product. Little awkward to fit on my LG model as the electrical terminals are on the wrong side of the pump and caught on the outside of the washing machine wall, stopping pump from fitting in.But over came this issue by changing with the opposite working pump and installing replacement on the opposite side, where there was more room. Overall happy with product, price and fast delivery.

  Not quite exact fit 22 July 2013

  Replacing the pump was easy. Tilt the machine onto its side and then remove 3 screws to loosen the pump. The new pump fiited exactly apart from the electrical connectors. The replacvement pump had separate L and N tabs, whereas the old one had L & N close together hence made use of a plastic spade clip. To fit new pump, I had a fiddly job of fixing two new spade connectors after cutting the wiring. I had expected it to be an exact match

  Fitted to Bosch WFK2801GB 24 April 2013

  The original pump's bearings were becoming rough and sometimes catching when the pump tried to start. This replacement is almost identical to the Askoll pump motor originally fitted, so no reason to suppose the quality is any less. The only difference is that the spade terminals are positioned differently. I cut off the original plug, crimped separate spade connectors to the two wires and cut a second hole in the splash cover. My Bosch wash has a steel plate covering the bottom, which was held in place by pop rivets. I chose to drill the rivets out to remove the plate, which makes access to the pump much easier, then replace with screws and nuts. Swapping the pump motor on this machine is a straightforward job if you are used to mending stuff, but it is not quite as simple as the video suggests.

  After a slight problem with finding the positive and negative feeds ( connection is different to Bosch original) it now works as good as new - quiet and efficient.
