Check the position of the door lock, make sure the door does not need adjusting as the catch needs to go straight into the lock otherwise it does not connect.

Answer this question

No click when pressing start, door does not stay closed but very faint click after time delay after switching off so am assuming it is the door interlock.

The door lock is held in place by 2 pips that have to be released by pushing them with a screwdriver.

Hi I ave a candy godf800 washing machine with error 01 coming up. Is it the door interlock that is the problem? If so will any of the ones on your site be compatible with it to replace? Thanks in advance.

Remove the door seal from the front and press the 'pips' that push through the front panel either side of he lock hole and slide the lock hole frame away from the door. It should then hinge/lift away. To fit the new lock hook the hole frame into the front panel and hinge/slide it into position until the 'pips' lock it in place.

If you have broken the handle by trying to open it before it unlocked then you may just need the handle. Answer this question

For a start it has no screw holes, also it seems to be magnetically operated (the old one was a pin pushed by the door catch also there seems to be nothing to hold the door shut. Yet it says it is the right bit!

By HappyAndrew - |Hampshire - 11 February 2012
  • There are no screws. From what I understand from having a play about with the old one I just replaced, Its a electro magnet that pulls a pin down once the door is in the shut possition inside the lock, so the door is unable to be opened, after the washer is turned of the power is cut and the magnet releases and door is able to be opend.
