Product Q&A

Ask a Question

I need it to plumb my Currys compact dishwasher inlet hose (3/4") directly into the kitchen tap on the sink. I have tried a straight copper connector 15mm x 3.4" from Screwfix but it was slightly too big for my tap. Might there be a garden hose fitting that would work? It is mains pressure.

  • I got a Hozelock Threaded Tap Connector for £5 and used it to replace the aerator in the spout of the tap (discarding the yellow plastic attachment as not needed. The metal end has a 3/4 attachment to screw on the dishwasher hoze. Does the job. No idea what the thread side is at the other end but it seems to fit modern taps. By Matt - London - 03 May 2016

This is unlikely to stay leak free on a non standard tap and should not be fitted on a mixer tap. A better solution would be to use a self bore tap like Stock Number: ES503412

Answer this question

I know that planning to have a table top dishwasher plumbed professionally might be a preferable option but I was hoping to avoid having to seek landlord permission to cut through the work surface if possible.

It is not possible to add a hose to a mixer tap as it is not allowed due to the chances of 'cross contamination' from cold to hot.

It is not a good idea to use this with a mixer tap as it could lead to dirty hot water from the tanks contaminating the cold supply' A better way would be to use Stock Number: ES106398 to 'split' the supply from your washing machine or use Stock Number: ES503412 to connect it to any nearby cold supply by just slipping over the pipe and turning to connect itself.

Water pressure would force this of the tap when the machine stops filling. The part Stock Number: ES503412 is a self bore tap and more suitable for a DIY installation.

Hi, I received the Adapter yesterday and tried using it. But every time I start the water the adapter pops out due to water pressure. I am trying to fit it to a Kitchen High neck sink tap.

Hi Mandar, have you attached all washers correctly? Double check that you have all connections right. If that doesn't work, perhaps you got a faulty part, if that's the case, give us a call and we will sort a replacement for you.
