AEG Washing Machine Door Interlock DL-S1 124967514 402 for LAVCL S-W Stock Number: ES488164
Genuine spare part for select AEG, De Dietrich, John Lewis Kuppersbusch and Zanussi washing machines
When I close the door and set the programme, the door lock light flashes and clicks repeatedly. The door lock light will not stay solid even though the door is firmly closed so the machine will not start filling. Would this be a door interlock problem or the PCB Board, please?

We believe it is likely to be the door lock, so check that first before suspecting anything else.
I Bought the door handle kit DST405508551 fitted... door still didn't close so thought it must be the door lock interlock system bought this and fitted. Still didn't close. Took everything off put back to old stuff. Holding lock in the machine until the door interlock clicks and the door stays shut and the machine runs no error codes. Any idea what is wrong????

Check the door has not dropped otherwise the door catch won't connect into the door lock correctly causing it not to lock.
zanussi zwh6105 fault code E40 door lock would this also cause the machine not to spin or empty the water

If the door lock is not activating the washing machine will not start so it will do nothing.
The AEG Lavamat 72640 is showing an E40 error, I have checked the manual for the E40 error and done the following (replaced main fuse, check door is closed firmly, checked drain tap at the front bottom right). But the washing machine is still showing an E40 error and won't allow for the wash to start, it turns on but won't start on any wash cycle.

E40 is a door lock error and may need replacing, for more information see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/2498
The interlock clicks like it always has when I start the machine, then beeps and says E40. Is there a way to tell if the interlock is the problem and needs replacing? Its a John Lewis JLWM1407

It is likely a new lock will resolve the problem.
I don't know if you can help me diagnose a faulty part but I do not want to buy a spare to find that there's nothing wrong with the one I have. My washer dryer has died completely with no lights or LCD display at all. I have taken the PCB off with no signs of burn out and removed the door switch and I suspect/hope it is the door switch. What I want to know is is the door switch faulty or not. It Has four wires coming out in two pairs one has a red connector on it which has 1,800 ohms across it whether the door is open or shut - maybe this is the thermocouple heater element? The other connected with black is constantly open circuit. Faulty switch? Is this the correct status for these connectors if not I Wil assume it is broken and I'll order the part from you. Please let me know if the door switch is faulty and I'll order a spare and give you a constructive review as this would be genuinely useful in addition to your great videos which I wish I'd watched before taking the whole front panel off to remove door lock :-/

If your machine has this lock it is based on an Electrolux or Zanussi. These have a solenoid door switch that make a loud click locking and double click when opening. A faulty door switch would not normally stop these machines from lighting up so it is unlikely if dead that this is the problem. For information to diagnose your problem see our video: How to diagnose washing machine control and program problems http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1793/how-to-diagnose-washing-machine-control-and-program-problems
Will this part fit my appliance?
