My NEFF fan assist oven will switch on as normal and after 5 mins it trips out at the main electric panel. I can use my grill / top oven normally. Is this caused by a faulty element or is it another fault ? 4 Answers
The oven element was replaced in Jan. 2013
- i agree with chris at espares - most likely the element, but, it is NOT necessary to have the expense of a replacement element to prove this. this should be proved by competent electrician using suitable insulation tester on the suspect element. i have also found several thermostats or simmerstats which use a neutral connection and are not just a switch live connection that can also give a tripping fault.

Re Scott's input, thanks for your comments but it is not usual for the thermostat to cause this problem. However some elements that have not been used for a while will absorb a little moisture from the atmosphere causing electrical leakage and tripping. However if the element is heated up it can clear this moisture and resolve the problem.
- I had the exact same issue. we replaced the thermostat and no more problems. did not replace the element.

The most likely cause is a failing element but it may be necessary to replace it to prove this is the fault.
I have bought the element but cannot fit it in my oven as the fan is in the way of one of the screws. 2 Answers
There is a screw above the fan which fixes the element in place. How do I get to this as it is behind the fan and I cannot remove the fan?
- I came across the same access problem with the fan in front of the top retaining screw. To remove the fan You need to take off the nut (reverse thread) then pull off the washer (use some pliers) - the fan also pulls out (rather than screws out) - mine didn't move easily but a bit of 3 in one oil and a brave pull with some pliers on the hub straight out got it off.

The fan is designed to be removed as it is replaceable if difficult to remove the nut try some lubrication to help free it to get to the screws to the element.
I had my oven element changed a year ago by a local chap. it has now gone again, so im trying to replace a new one bought from yourselves, saving money on the fix it man. I followed everything to the part of unscrewing the element. There is a screw at the top, behind the fan. The fan does not allow for this screw to be removed without removing the fan, how do I do this, the fan spins and the nut is solid. Help
- Squirt it with wd40 - leave it for at least 30 mins then have another go - remember that the nut turns the opposite way to normal!

The Torx screws in the cover for the heating element are rusted up and will not budge.How can I get them out. 1 Answer

You will need to soak them overnight with a lubricant which should allow you to get them out.
Neff U1721 fan oven trips main house board when cooking at approx 200, works fine at 180 or lower. Top oven works fine at high temp so its not the main trip.

Have tried doing this with the oven in place. As there is a screw holding the element behind the fan, I undid the nut for the fan but the fan won't just pull off - do I need to use more force ? Also, will the wires for the element pull through the slots so I can detach them ?

If your oven uses the 'cast' type of fan they can seize onto the motor shaft. Use a little penetrating oil on the shaft allow to work and then try 'tapping' the fan with a screwdriver handle to help shock it free on the shaft.
British Gas fitted a new element to my NEFF Ui721 oven. The oven heats up but when you cook a joint it can't get up to temperature. Poor quality compatible element do you think? 1 Answer
- Yes sounds like it , if british gas supplied and fitted the element get them back out most parts have a 3 month guarantee. Also if your paying for it tell them like for like wont do ! you want the exact element fitting .
