Tumble Dryer Drum Bearing Kit Stock Number: ES185423
Genuine spare part for select models of White Knight and many more brands of tumble dryers
The picture seems to show the back plate with spigot and the bearing. I need a replacement housing which is a cast item, and is rivetted to the drum. Does the kit include this, or alternatively can you supply one? CL767031276715300/13
- See answer to first question. Drill out rivets and replace with nuts and bolts
- Hi. No it doesn't, if you need the cast bit it usually requires a new drum as the cast bit is rivited to it. I would look for a new machine!!! Adam
The bearing on my WK44AW is obviously worn, and I will order this, but the rivets securing the spider arm to the drum are also slightly loose. In the past, I have tightened rivets on other machinery by hammering. Would you consider this to be a viable repair?
- remove the top and the back of the tumble drier, using an electric drill and a drill bit drill out the rivets, and replace with short nut and bolts, preferably with a wide head. This worked for me quite well.

You could do this but it will just be very problematic to take it apart again should the need ever arise... Do you not have a tool available to you that will work?

A badly worn bearing can cause the drum to catch the base and cause banging as you describe so this may be the cause of your problem.
I have a white knight condenser tumble dryer, the bearing has blown and broken a spider arm. Can I buy the spider without the drum?

The closest video we have that covers this type of repair is 'How to replace the shaft and bearings on a tumble dryer'.
If I am replacing the bearings do I have to take the whole unit apart or can it done by unscrewing the panel on the rear of the machine.

Hello glencoe. Replacing the bearings will involve taking the whole tub apart - it's a big job. Check out this video to see how it's done on a washing machine; it won't be too dissimilar to what you'll need to do for your dryer: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1401/how-to-replace-the-bearings-on-a-washing-mach.html
I have a White Knight gas tumble drier and the drum will not turn. It is not the drive belt but the drum seems to have dropped and is rubbing underneath. Could this be the front or small bearings within the drum? 1 Answer
The machine is quite old and is a BG431/1

Hi Trev, it sounds as if it may be the springs or drum supports which hold the drum in place that have gone. The fact that the drum is not suspended inside the dryer suggests that the components that were suspending it have failed.
Can you confirm that the bearing shaft screw is a self tapping screw as the bearing shaft does not appear to be tapped (threaded)? 1 Answer

Hi Jimnic, the screw is indeed self tapping; the shaft is not tapped.
If not can you please supply or recomend a bearing kit?
- Yes it does but check the long number on the spec. plate on the back of the machine
