  • I have had to remove the oven from the kitchen units as the element in my Lam 3400 oven is fixed /screwed from the rear.Had to remove the oven completely and take the rear panel off to get at the element fixing screws on the the rear side of the element. IS NOT REPLACEABLE FROM THE FRONT OF THE OVEN. By ALO - Edinburgh - 22 February 2020
  • Hi, I recently replaced the element in a BEKO OIF22300X oven, and it is indeed screwed in from the back with 2 screws. So, you have to remove the oven from housing, and remove the back panel of the oven, as well as the internal panel. You can access the screws & terminals through a hole in the metal casing & insulation layer. By jimbob046 - Cambridge - 29 January 2014

The manufacturers web site shows the cover over the fan and element is available separately so it must be removeable. Check it does not just lift off or it may be screwed from the back.

  • I had this problem too. The main Earth Leakage Breaker (30mA) was tripping after the oven had been on for about 20 minutes. Strangely, when the trip was reset the oven would continue to work OK when hot. Replaced heating element and all OK thereafter. By CER1302 - Maidenhead - 19 July 2017

It is likely that the oven element is faulty but it is possible it could be another element.

Answer this question

It was making a loud rattling noise, this was fine although noisy as it was still heating up to the correct temperature but now it will not heat up. Although the grill is working fine. I changed the fan oven element approximately 2yrs ago. could this be the Fan motor and the element this time? Any help would be much appreciated

  • We had a similar issue recently on our OIF22300X, turns out the fan was catching on the heating element which was the noise, and a few weeks later the element blew. The fan may need tightening and the new element is relatively easy to fit (less than half an hour) although on this model you do need to remove the back panel to access the screws holding the element in. I am rubbish at DIY though and I managed it! By AC - Essex - 03 August 2016

If the fan is noisy it suggests worn bearings and may slow causing the element to overheat and eventually fail.

Answer this question

My Lamona 3400 fitted oven won't heat up. Everything else, fan, grill etc works so I assume it is the oven element? However when I remove the cover the screws appear to be coming in from the back. Do I need to take the oven out to get at it?

You would normally be able to change this type of element from the front if the screws in the element go into the back cavity, if it is a bolt then the nut would be on the other side and the oven would need to be removed for the element to be replaced.

The holes in the bracket are 'threaded' so the fixing screws/bolts must be accessed and removed by taking the back off the oven case.

We believe on some models the element will have the retaining bracket on the other side, if the screws are not visible through the element plate the oven will have to be removed.

Elements get red hot and can if overheated get soft enough to 'droop' and contact the fan. Although a new element will stop it catching if the fan is stiff turning or noisy it may cause the element to overheat again and distort so may also need replacing.

The element screws or nuts will be accessible once the back panel is removed, however sometimes it may be necessary to 'disturb' the insulation to find them.
