Universal venting kit for cooker hoods with a 150mm fitting
I would like to install a cooker into a old fireplace and use the existing chimney as a extractor vent is this possible 1 Answer

In theory this should be a good vent as there will be a natural drawer of air out of the house through the chimney. It would be advisable to ensure it is swept first and check it has not been capped off.

This can be cut to size and if the outlet aligns with the hole it will be suitable.

Your cooker hood can either be set to extract or to recirculate the air. Check with your instruction book and check if carbon filters have been fitted to clean the air (may have been an extra when purchased). Replace these filters if over 12 months old.
I have got a Kenwood type P23 extract hood above my cooker which works well but the problem I have is that where the vent pipe discharges to outside a lot of Bees are getting into the exract discharge pipe where it goes outside as the terminal fitting is missing . Can I buy another one of these terminal fittings to stop the insects getting in to the vent pipe and then my kitchen .

Further to my last question you say that this product is 150 but I have and oblong connection 100 by 150. Is this a square connection which is 150 by 150 and not 150 by 100? 1 Answer

Sorry if I was not clear it is a round ducting kit with 150 mm diameter tubing and a square wall vent. There is a round adaptor collar to fit on to a cooker hood with a round 150 mm duct outlet.
