This kit should add less than 10 mm to the combined height of the two machines.

After much research I have found an LG washing machine that I am happy with and due to space will need to stack my appliances. All of the LG tumble dryers seem to be very expensive..if I am to keep to the same manufacturing group, which machines can I also look at to enable me to safely use a stacking kit? I have found a Hotpoint one which I would ideally like to buy..would this be ok? Dimensions of LG machine are 595mm wide x 562mm deep and the Hotpoint 600m wide x 550mm deep.

The fact the dryer is slightly shorter should not be a problem. Especially as its width is very similar this should be suitable.

There are a couple of reasons why this may not be recommended for condenser driers. 1: Many condenser driers have panels and drawers that have to be regularly removed for cleaning or emptying. These may foul the surround and be difficult to remove. 2: Condenser driers tend to be significantly heavier and as a result may damage the lid on the supporting appliance. 3: Occasionally these driers may leak water that could damage the supporting appliance. For these reasons the kit manufacturer may have decided not to recommend them.

I have to replace my washing machine and am thinking of buying a Zanussi ZWH7122J. At present my tumble dryer is stacked on top. It is Zanussi TD523 bought 17 years ago. Is it essential to have a stacking kit? There doesn't seem to be anything at present between the appliances other than a bit of plastic with some screws sticking up.

Hi, as mentioned in the video, the stacking kit is designed to distribute the weight of the appliance on top across the top of the appliance below. Placing one appliance directly on top of the other can cause damage and place too much pressure on the lower appliance, so it's always advisable to use a stacking kit. We recommend you use the kit only with appliances from the same manufacturer or manufacturing group.
