Fridge Thermostat WDF30Y-EX Stock Number: ES134447
Genuine spare part for select Hitachi, Proline and Scandinova fridge freezers
My fridge has suddenly stopped getting cold. The temperature reading dial has not been accurate for months(reading -30). Could it be the thermostat that needs replacing?
- exactly the same as my symptoms. thermostat replaced, (20mins) - fridge now works fine. could be the compressor though but I checked mine out with a multimeter. £40 a lot to pay for a thermostat if you're not sure
Does the back have to come off to fit the coil of wire attached to the thermostat?
- No the back doesn't have to come off. there is a plate inside that comes off, the end of the probe is behind this plate. attach a draw wire to the end of the old probe when you pull it out and use this to pull the new probe back through. make sure you attach it securely and "push / pull" it through

Unfortunately we cannot give out technical advice in this case. Please contact an engineer for support.
Hi, the fridge died suddenly so I suspected either the compressor or stat. Temporary bypassing the main wiring proved the compressor was working fine so I guess this only real leaves the stat as the potential fault? Is there anything else it could be? Does the stat include fitting instructions for a Scandinova LF87C? Cheers

Please check our advice centre for more information on common fridge faults. This part does not come with fitting instructions although the comments already posted on it should give you some idea of how others found the process. I would advise calling someone in our team who will be able to give more detailed information over the phone about installation.
Hi, I have a FF7054D Fridge Freezer possibly with a faulty thermostat, how can I test it and if needs be is there a 'trick' to replace it?

Hi Jimbos The following are signs that your thermostat could be faulty: - the fridge/freezer is too cold or too warm - the firdge/freezer is not cooling and the light is on - the compressor motor is running (whirring) continuously The above three reasons could mean your thermostat is faulty, however there is other reasons too for these problems so if you're unsure I'd recommend contacting a technician or maybe asking a friend or relative for a second opinion!

Hi Jimbos In order to tell you where your thermostat is located, I will need your fridge freezer's specific model number, as the part's positioning will vary from model to model. For help finding your model number, use our handy guide: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx
