This is a 'standard' type drain motor and can only run when the control board is telling it to. Raise the outlet higher than the water level to ensure it is not just syphoning out. LG washer - model F1256QD - leaks badly! Everything's been working fine since new, till I unscrewed the pump filter drain plug in the front of the machine to clean it as per instruction book. Now I have screwed the plug back in as far as it'll go, water runs out at a fast trickle from around the plug. First I thought I'd missed out a washer, but the only one appears to be integral with the plug body. How can I test it for water tightness without having another flood? Many thanks!

Some filters can easily be fitted 'cross threaded' Remove it and carefully check you are offering it to the machine 'squarely' as yo refit. Pour one glass of water into the drum or drawer to check for leaks before filling the machine.
I already ordered this item, but for safety sake, kindly ask you to confirm that this drain pump is compatable for my model washing machine Bosch WVT 1260. Thank you.

This is fully compatible with the BR/01 version of your machine and is likely to be the same as your machine but without the full model number we cannot confirm this.
