i have a whirlpool with a pump that matches the above universal one. could anyone tell me whether the pump blade is supposed to be slightly stiff every half turn as i need to tell whether the pump is sticking or there is a problem with the feed to the pump? just like to know before i buy, regards chris bowman
- I fitted one myself recently and it does go stiff due to the magnet fitted.

Hi T J, it sounds as if there's a problem with the motor, the bearings or the belt of the machine. First, check if the belt is still attached. To do this, give the drum a spin; if it spins more freely than usual, you'll need to reattach the belt. You can see a video of how to do that here: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1375/how-to-replace-the-belt-on-a-washing-machine-.html. If the belt is ok, check and tighten the drum pulley. Next, check the bearings. If the drum or pulley are wobbling, the bearings are gone. Lastly check the motor - have it come loose? You should also check for any stray socks and the like. If you still can't diagnose after all that, it's likely to be a failed motor.
my zanussi machine was not draining so I fitted the new pump on, but still is not draining and it has started to leak, what can i do? 1 Answer

Hi there, I'd check the drain hose for any blockages - if not that, it may be a plumber problem.
I fitted this pump to a hec1050w, however the pump will not turn off the water enters the machine and is immediately pumped out again. I have checked the connection and it is fitted correctly Neutral to Neutral and Live to Live what is the cause of this? 1 Answer
- Program module would control the pump supply this would be the fist place to examine
fitted a new pump to my LG as it was not draining. When fitted I switched the machine on an could hear straight away the pump spinning and water draining. Unfortunatley the pump does not switch off. Water is coming into the machine and getting pumped stra 1 Answer

Hi Pacman, it sounds as the pump may be wired wrongly. I'd advise refitting it, while double and triple checking the wiring. Hopefully when it's refitted it'll work correctly.
the back of this pump has two single fittings.my original has one double bladed fitting.so how do you fit it?or do i have to order the original correct part no 56835 for my washer/dryer indesit WIDXL126.
- if you ar referring to the 0.25" spade connectors, then because the power supply is 250VAC you can connect one wire to each of the spades any way round, any way you can, it will still work. just make sure the insulator material is good if you have to split the connector.
My washing machine will take water in but stops after the drum turns a few times and will not take anymore water in or click to the next stage and it will not spin either......we have replaced the carbon brushes thinking it was them and it still does not do a wash or spin wht could be wrong with my washing machine.

When I put on any wash program it reaches spin cycle, water does not drain, the drum does not spin and there is a loud grinding noise from the bottom of the machine. could it be the pump or the motor which is faulty?
- my samsung washer had same problem, if your machine has a 'debris filter' check that first. if thats clear its the drain pump, got one from espares (£10.99) & works a treat! easy fix, unplug & tilt machine backwards remove 2 hoses (beware water will come out!) remove 2 wires & 2 mounting screws, refit new one. samsung quoted £43.99 for identical part!
the machine empties ,but will not spin..can you tell me what part i need/
