I purchased my machine when the hand held first came out. I haven't used it much over the years. It is never constantly on charge. Just lately if I fully charge it up for a day and not use it. The following day when I go to use it its dead as a dodo. Do you think I need a new battery?

My Dyson DC16 charges to green Led, however when i use it it only operates for 5-10 second spells before cutting out. Is this likely to be the battery ? or another fault ?

This is a typical sign of an old failing battery and very unlikely to be the charger.

Hi Gasssone, the battery should last about six minutes from fully charged to dead, however unlike other handhelds the suction performance will not drop from start to finsh.
