It is likely to be the thermostat, use a multimeter to test it to verify it has failed.

There are two screws under the control panel that once removed allow the bottom to drop and access the thermostat. Remember to disconnect before any work.

The thermostat is above the door in the centre of the top panel.

Answer this question

The fridge Indesit INE160G (has no freezer section) has cooled so much that the cheese froze. the temperature dial was altered and the fridge was made warmer and the milk etc went off. I have checked the drain hole and that is clear. I have also checked the door seal and that has no rips or holes.

  • Had exactly the same issue with my Hotpoint RLA34P. I would suggest changing the Thermostat. Very easy to do and fixed the same problem for me... Good Luck By Anonymous - Hinckley - 27 September 2011

Hi Chrisfoster Without actually seeing your fridge, it is impossible to tell for sure what is causing this problem, however the thermostat is a likely reason. What I would advise is talking to your local fridge specialist and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you. And that's where we come in! With thousands of fridge freezer spares, we're bound to have the part for you.
