My cooker hood makes a screeching for 5-10 seconds when I switch it on in cold weather! Never in summer. Could this new motor help do you think? Are there installation instructions with this product?

Unfortunately we couldn’t say for definite if this replacement motor would fix the noise issue with your cooker hood. However it can be noted that humming noises can be the result of defective motor shaft bearings. As a cooker hood motor cannot be repaired a replacement would be required. We could also recommend checking for any external objects becoming stuck within the fan wheel and its housing. To test this you would need to manually turn the blower wheel and check for any objects which could be restricting the movement of the blower wheel.

Answer this question

I don`t need the motor as that is OK, it`s the lamp connection on the switch bank connection board that has failed. this is the answer to the question of the motor being OK but the lights do not work.

Unfortunately these parts are sold together as a complete spare.

Answer this question

Is there a fuse on motor that could blow and cause lights to fail, have changed bulbs but still do not work. It could be a button fault if not. Cooker hood is CHIM70SS

Hi Tidybooks Without actually seeing your Belling CHIM70SS cooker, it is impossible to tell what is causing this problem. What I would advise is talking to your local Belling or cooker hood specialist and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you. And that's where we come in! With hundreds of Belling spares, we're bound to have the part for you.
