Hi My cooker hood has a set of switches plus indicator that look exactly like this one. Intermittently the switches stop working and / or it sits displaying 5. Do you have any idea if this part will clear that problem. In other words, is this just the switch set and the electronics module (where the fault may lie) is a different spare part?

  • I had an issue with this module where the push switches didn't operate easily and eventually two of them broke. The switches are just moulded plastic and broke at the 'hinge'. This unit is a combined switch/electronics module which is easy to change - it took me less than 15 minutes. It seems expensive for such a small unit but it is significantly cheaper than replacing the cooker hood By Anonymous - Yorkshire - 10 January 2012

Can we replace this part ourselves or do we need to ask a specialist to do this for us?

Hi wendyjg, this module is fairly tricky to fit; I'd only try it if you consider yourself a confident FIYer. The part doesn't come with instructions, however what you'll need to do is first remove the metal filter from the hood, then unclamp the housing which sits around the module. Then you'll need to unwire the old one, making a note of where the connections go. Reverse the process to fit the new module. Best of luck!
