Hi Irzb, drum bearings are difficult to fit, and I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself unless you have prior experience.
It would appear that only the rear bearings on my machine have gone - although they have taken the pulley with them... Is it possible to only change the rear bearings, and to do it without removing the drum, or should I do the whole lot in one go? 1 Answer

We would recommend you replace both bearings and the shaft and tub seals by removing the drum from the machine.
i have got 5 years old AEG Lavamat washing machine it was very relaible never give me any problem till last week my wife put our sons mudy rugby shirt to wash after the wash whenever we try to turn the drum it makes terrible noise ( it turns clockwise ok but when turns opposit direction screaching noise starts and stops alltogether ) does it needs new bearings ? is it economical to be repaired.

It could be a number of things: the belt, the motor brushes, faulty spin control unit. You'll be able to tell quite easily if it is the machine's belt by removing back panel and simply looking if it has come loose. But because you say it is only struggling to turn one way it could be a little more complicated and really will require a professional looking at it.
