One of The solar glow ceramic hot plates on my Hotpoint EW86x cooker is faulty. It heats up but I cannot lower the temperature. Will the whole element need replacing or can just the thermostat be replaced? 1 Answer

In my manual it says that I need a 1200w speedglo 145mm but all I can find is a 165mm is this the correct element.

I have ordered this part, but the connections on the burned out element are different to those on the replacement. How do I make the connections?

The 1200W Solarglo element has burnt out on my Creda C461EW and I can't find a replacement anywhere. Is it reasonable to assume I can replace it with this Ceramic element as it is listed as a spare for the C461EW?
