It appears to me that the wheels would be a hindrance on rough ground.

The wheels are not designed to be removed.
- Hi, Sarah. I've just bought one of these. My borders are covered in pea gravel to deter cats from messing. I used this for the first time today and despite it being 3000 watts, it didn't suck up any gravel. I was surprised, as I bought it to replace a Bosch 2000 watt garden vac, and this did suck up and then spit out some gravel! The Flymo blows as well and has a far longer cable. My first impressions are to recommend this to you.
