- Remove the spark plug ,find the top of stroke reverse piston approx half an inch then feed as much shoelace or 5mm cord as you can into the plug hole turn the cam to make sure that the piston does not turn over you can then loosen the cam quite easily. Tightening is the reverse operation. Make sure you get all of the cord back out of the chamber. Best of luck. Ps have done often.
