If you lean the machine onto it's back carefully and avoiding damaging the hoses. With the power disconnected remove the base cover to access the heater connections. Once the connections are disconnected there is a nut in the middle (may be two) undo this and remove the clamp plate before removing the element inside the cavity. Reverse to reassemble.

Dishwasher runs, but does not get hot. I assume it is the element or the thermastat. How do I find out which? Dishwasher overheated recently, some of the black material on the back melted.

Hi Peterw I'm afraid that without seeing the dishwasher it would be impossible to tell what the cause of your problem is. We would advise you talk to your local Blomberg or dishwasher technician and they will tell you which part you need. And that's where we come in! I'm afraid we don't stock thermostats for the Blomberg 1200DW dishwasher, which is something we're looking in to changing, but of course you can get your element at the top of this page. Good luck!
