Answer this question

My Bosch dishwasher stopped working, showed error code E01 and "water" in the display. I checked the water supply, tilted the machine a few times and it started working again. After a couple of washes it started tripping rcd 3 mins into wash cycle. Runs ok on rinse cycle. Is this the heater, control pcb or thermostat?

The most likely cause if there is no water in the cabinet base is a faulty heating element.

Some dishwashers have a 'turbidity sensor' that checks the draining water for signs of contamination and may then carry out another rinse. If the machine rinses repeatedly it may have a contaminated sensor. Try using a dishwasher cleaner for a couple of cycles empty to try and clear this problem.

Answer this question

Hi, when i turn my dishwasher on it starts normally - ie it pumps out any remaining water. The timer then clicks on, and would normally begin the first rinse cycle. Now however it justs stops at that point and sits there. After about an hour it starts up again and completes the cycle! If i try to move the timer on manually to complete the cycle it sounds as though it is trying to rinse, but there is no water feed. Any ideas? Thermostat failed? Thanks, Huw.

Hi Huw, I'm guessing there's either a blockage somewhere in the drain system, or failing that, the anti-flood device has become damaged. I'm guessing though, that because the dishwasher starts going after an hour or so, that there's a blockage in the drain system. Basically, the anti-flood device is a float switch, which switches on when the base of the dishwasher is filled with water. It sends a message to the PCB telling it to not let any more water in to the dishwasher. It turns off again once the water level has dropped - which sounds as if is an hour later inside your dishwasher. What I'd advise you to do is remove the lower tray and then the mesh filter guard and filter, clean the filter, and remove any and all blockages. Do the same for the drain hose. Do make sure you unplug the dishwasher first, as well as cutting off the water supply to it. Best of luck!

Answer this question

Hi, I have a Siemens SE64630GB/12 dishwasher. Recently it has started up OK filled with water heated and washed but then stops full of water and with all lights off on the switches. If I wait long enough sometimes it resets and contiues the cycle. Could this be a faulty thermostat or controller. I have stripped and cleaned all pipes, flood switch and check the float switches operate OK. I have checked the on/off switch and inspected the wiring and controller connections. Where do i go next, perhaps the tip!
