How do I remove the old broken switch please without uninstalling the fridge. As this is a built in-under fridge, This would entail removing large sections of siliconed-in plinth from the cupboard units.

  • Hi Ian did you manage to sort the switch? Mines permanently switching the light on and I’m struggling to remove it, only thing I can think of is brute force. By Tc - Newcastle upon Tyne - 14 February 2020
  • Thanks for your answer, although I don't quite understand. The lampholder is part of the thermostat housing, but the switch is on the front of the case at the top. its a plunger operated by the door opening and closing. Thanks -Ian C. By Ian C - - 31 October 2019

You can normally remove the switch from the inside without taking the fridge out, you would need to get into the thermostat housing to get to the switch.
