When I turn on my cooker hood there is a siren noise coming from the housing, could this mean that the fan motor needs replacing?

Neff Ref: D66B20S0GB. I have bought parts from you before and found you very efficient but I don't want to buy this part and find that it was another less costly problem!

It is common on Neff ovens (or mine at least) for the fan to start the moment the control is turned from the off position. If the cooling fan is noisy this could give this symptom.
