Why do the jet nozzles not spin at the proper speed?

I have sufficient pressure coming out of the nozzles on a T50 patio cleaner head, but the nozzles dont spin at the proper speed. Any idea what is causing this?

  • Agree with Eleanor above - remove the assembly, clean all the brass bits with Brasso then put it all back together again - good as new. By Rod - Hampshire - 20 June 2018
  • Hi I'm trying to removed this part from the spinning head as it won't spin any more. I can't seem to remove it and it seems jammed. Does the brass washer and white washer at the nut end need to be removed first? I can't seem to get these off. By Ali Rauf - Greenford - 14 June 2018
  • I solved this when mine stopped spinning. I unscrewed and tapped out the illustrated part using a wooden mallet. I removed the washers. I observed a dirty wear line. I polished both washers and the brass bushes with a mild polishing compound. I used G4 which is for car paintwork. I am sure bathroom cleaner, jeweler polish or any other mild abrasive would also work. I used 1200 wet and dry, a cloth and an old bit of mdf to rub both washers until the dirty wear was absent. I cleaned all the parts thoroughly, including the washer jets. I remounted it and tightened until the washers span but the centre remained fixed. Spins perfectly. • It's the PTFE (white plastic) washers and brass part that wear (groves in them at end opposite to the nut end) and this acts like a brake. Quick temporary fix is to remove and turn PTFE washer over but note not to tighten brass nut so much as to stop spinning. Get a supply of PTFE washers to keep it going. That's what I'm looking for and found this post! By KJ - - 30 May 2016

This may be due to the nozzles damaged or the pivot being worn and binding on the rotor.
