How do I detach the old Lawnmower Retainer Pin wiring from the switch

It appears that you push the pin wiring into the switch and it is automatically clamped. I cannot, so far, release the old pin. Do I have to by a new switch as well?

  • Although the pins are 'fixed' I eventually reverted to brute force and ignorance and pulled them out with pliers. It looked as though I had damaged the pin holes but the new ones were pushed in, with a little force, and were held in place and are working OK. Best of luck. By jayell - Bristol - 04 May 2010
  • First - disconnect the 2 wires to the switch from the pin. Second - using a screwdriver lever up the plastic strip connected to the pin ( can be quite tight) to dislodge the pin. You should not need to buy a new switch. By Rich1706 - Central Scotland - 03 September 2009
