My replacement thermostat you supplied has an extra connection. Help
The ordered part was quoted for my fridge L5526W but the supplied part does not match the original. There is an extra spade position plus one spade at right angles to the original. Since none of the spades are marked I do not want to attempt a replacement without your further advice. Can it be used or do I need to return the part to you? My order No. was 4156485

The sensor should have a reading of between two thousand and forty thousand ohms depending on type. If you are not obtaining a reading in this region replace the sensor.

This thermostat contains two switches. The first switch connects the live on terminal 3 (we understand this to be the two connectors side by side) to the compressor on terminal 4. The second switch connects the live from terminal 3 to the lamp on the remaining terminal. An earth connection (yellow and green) will go to the terminal on the metal frame.
