My hotpoint OS897 dix is showing fault code F53 (temp sensor) is this potentiometer the part to renew. please advise
Fan keeps coming on and the grill stopped working on a different occasion. The fan runs for a long time when it comes in. fault code F53 is showing.

It is more likely to be one of the thermostats controlling the fan operation, test them with a multimeter to determine which one has failed.
