Hotpoint BD62SS Mk2 top oven won't heat above approx 140C, changed thermostat and still no better. Grill works ok, what is the problem please?

The top oven will usually use both the elements during cooking and if one or both of them are breaking down then it will not reach the correct temperature, you will need to check them both with a multimeter to determine if they have failed.
