      I haved a DC08 Animal Dyson that is very old but works well after cleaning and replacing pretty much everything. Now the motor has gone so would it be cost effective to replace the motor, given its age, or do I need to buy a new machin?

        The cost of the motor is little to the cost of a Dyson machine if the rest is in good condition.
