What is a Refrigerator Plug Button use for?

My Hotpoint fridge freezer is the FF86P and I have found that mice, from time to time, have found a their way into the fridge part of my fridge freezer. I presume that they climb up the back of the appliance and then crawl through the drainage hole, situated in the back of the fridge, to gain access to the inside. Will the "Refrigerator Plug Button" prevent this from happening? Yours Bob

This plug button is to cover screws and not to block the drain hole. It is not likely the mice could enter the drain hole (unless they have enlarged it dramatically as it is only 5mm diameter typically.
