i have a hoover hnc270-80 sensor dry condensor tumble dryer which keeps telling me to clean the filter and keeps starting and stopping.

i have cleaned the filter, i have also checked and flushed clean the big internal filter above the water catch tank, could it be it needs a new thermostat? it will not keep running, after about 2 minutes it flashes up filter care and stops. could it be a bad earth on the thermostat?
