My fridge freezer Samsung RSH1NBRS was iced up in the panels and making loud noise

We have defrosted everything and it's kind of cooling but the display is showing a blinking green light in the fridge part (base of the right hand 8). Samsung say this means there's a problem with the fan in the fridge. Do you advise replacing the fan motor? I'm not sure I want to spend £85 on the service man to come and tell me what I think I already know?...

    This fridge can suffer from ice build up and has a repair kit to prevent this occurring Stock Number: ES1406833. Fully defrost before removing the cover. Fit the brackets onto the back of the upper mounting screws, replace and move the sensor to the far left of the pipework and reset codes as per the instructions. Check and replace the defrost heater if required.
