How to test the pressure level regulator is working fine?

What will happen to the wash cycle if this part fails? My Washing machine stops midway in a wash cycle. It has to forced to be skipped to the next cycle. Could the pressure regulator be faulty.

It is unlikely to be the pressure regulator as this controls the amount of water taken into the machine, test the heater as if that is not working correctly it will stop in the program.
