The temperature knob is not regulating properly, is this the right part?

When I turn on the gas oven I can't regulate the flame, if I turn it down to a low temperature(150 degrees and below) it goes out.

    This part will cut off electric supply if the cooker overheats. Your problem is likely to be due to a poor flame on the thermocouple tip or a faulty thermocouple.
