Why has fitting a new seal failed to prevent leak?

Hotpoint dishwasher BF1620 is leaking on top of door. Water is lying across control button(s) and along underside of worktop and adjacent built in units. I have fitted a new seal, a genuine Hotpoint part, but problem persists. The seal is obviously not watertight. Any suggestions??

Make sure the Appliance is square and level as the cabinet can twist causing the seal to leak and the basket to catch.

  • Why does my shelf rub against the new seal we have put on. It pulls it off. Just on one side? Bottom shelf By Chelle - Romford - 03 October 2014
  • Try putting the seal in the otherway round I know that sounds too simple but I put my seal in the wrong way on my first attempt and it leaked. Turned the seal round and its perfect now. By Linda - - 14 December 2010
