The yellow plastic stopper keeps coming out and sticking in the other end with the spring. What can I do to stop this from happening?

- This is happening on my pressure washer too - I purchased it in August 2019 and have only used it 3-4 times. Now any tool I attach leaves they yellow plastic ‘O ring’ behind when I remove the tool
