What's causing my iron to stop steaming and also after dry ironing the base seems to be sparking blue light?
I've only had it for about a year and never renewed filter

Glasgow is listed as not being a hard water area so the iron should not be blocked by hard water scale. If the iron cuts out and flashes when moved it suggests a break in the wiring or faulty thermostat and we would advise not to use it until checked by a competent electrician.
